About The Course

The course takes its starting point in introducing bacteria and the microbiology of infections.

Through lectures, readings, quizzes and discussions, you will be introduced to the main concepts and properties of bacteriology and bacterial biofilm. The course will examine the impact of chronic infection on the human body and reflect on ways of overcoming the challenges of treating chronic infections.

You will learn why chronic infections are difficult to treat and to diagnose and get introduced to the evolution and social perspectives of this great medical challenge.
